365 Days of Fantasy
Before I begin writing my first fantasy novel, I want to emerse myself into the world of fantasy. I have therefore decided to spend the next year reading as many fantasy novels as possible, and have taken my reading list from the Fantasy 100's top 100 fantasy books. I have just finished reading "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien. It was a wonderful book, and I especially enjoyed the character of Gollum, their riddle contest, and Gandalf. I am looking forward to reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy next, which, remarkably, I have never read, even though I started it once and never got through the first few chapers. I am currently bidding on a set of the books on Ebay. If I win them, I plan on checking out the library's copy of "The Silmarillion" for some light reading until they arrive. If I don't win the auction, I will probably head down to the used book store to pick up a copy. I'm sure they're swimming in them.
